Chair Of The Board Of Directors

Gerald Walker serves as president and CEO of Interactive America, Inc. a globally recognized nonprofit focused on Community Development, Housing, Job Training, Health and Community leadership. Recognizing the critical partnership between community and business, and the impact of those partnerships on overall organizational success, Interactive helps Business leaders invest in their community partnerships by providing research, thought leadership, and Public Private Partnerships to service disenfranchised communities.

Gerald founded Interactive America in 2000, after having served the Crown Heights Local Development Corporation in Brooklyn NY as a member of the leadership team for five years. He has overseen a period of remarkable growth and change, helping Interactive America, Inc. expand its leadership voice and build a scalable model of program delivery that has resulted in an important growth in the number of clients served. Gerald has launch several program initiatives including the Veterans Village, IA-Café, IA-Technology Center, and IA-Shop which provides Jobs, Housing, Training, and Healthy lifestyles.

With 20 years of executive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, Gerald has worked closely with community boards and volunteers in providing disaster recovery services to communities nationally, and has cultivated deep expertise in fundraising strategy. He has served on many advisory committees and panels, including Medgar Evers Collage CUNY, and the Congressional Black Caucus. Under his leadership, Interactive America has steadily grown to be recognized as a community change agent.

Gerald’s undergraduate work includes a Bachelor of Science Information Systems from the University of Chicago and graduate work includes New York University, Stern School of Business MBA program.

Sr Executive Director

Christine Korbmacher, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Korbmacher joined Interactive America Inc. (IAI) in 2015 and was named CFO in 2017. Shaping an upcoming company and serving the community is an exciting journey close to her heart.

Dr. Korbmacher is a scientist with more than 20 years experience in Pharmaceutical Industry overseeing clinical trials. Dedicated to CNS indications, she is leading projects and provides consulting services on drug development.

Dr. Korbmacher holds a master’s degree in Biology from the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, Germany and earned her PhD in Biochemistry at the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute in Frankfurt, Germany, in cooperation with the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Frankfurt. She also holds an MBA in Finance from the International School of Management in Paris.

Sr Executive Director

Steve Tacher RIA, LUTCF, CI

Recruited away from a public company TCKI where he served as the organizations President, Mr. Tacher is one of the company’s Sr. Executive Board Members. He oversees all business development, including spearheading the company’s 2017 primary initiative of creating an Economic Development Financial Institute, called IA Capital, formed to support Nonprofits, Individuals & business owners in undeserved disenfranchised communities across America.

Charitable by nature, Mr. Tacher was honored in 2015 when asked to serve on the board as an Executive Director for Interactive America, Inc, a 17 year old 501c3 community development corporation. Mr. Tacher brings to the table a wealth of knowledge as a C-level executive and seasoned professional in Corporate Finance, Real Estate, Joint Venture structuring as well as having 25 years experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions.
